"Bossko" is a 1999 Bay Sweepstakes gelding, 15 hands tall, very handsome and definitely a great prospect for whatever job you may elect to give him in the showring or elsewhere. He is sired by one of the top *Bask sons ("SV Basksko") and has all of the heart and try he was bred to have. With his good looks and exceptional disposition, all he needs now is more experience under saddle and an owner who knows how to appreciate a superior Arabian of his quality and breeding.
This handsome 1998 Bay "Desperado V" Sweepstakes 15 hand gelding is out of one of my favorite "Baske-Tu" bred broodmares. He is broke-to-ride, very athletic, and ready to work. His barn-name, "Sticky," comes from the fact that he likes people so much and wants to "stick" close to them. Beautifully bred and an all-round great horse to socialize with, "YL Excalibur" is certainly worth your serious consideration if seeking a top showring candidate who exhibits all kinds of potential.
Savannah Shah is a recognized "YL star," having won numerous Halter Championships at Class A and Regional levels. This 14.3 hands tall 1997 beautiful bay Sweepstakes gelding also excels in Western Pleasure competition and has proven his ability by winning a number of Championships. A very sweet tempered gelding, he is a perfect age and candidate for an Adult or Junior Amateur Owner to put back in the show ring. He is "solid" and going to give some lucky competitor a lot of pleasure.
This 2003 deep golden Palomino Half-Arabian "Sweepstakes" gelding will be under saddle in the Fall of 2006. Out of the lovely Arabian *Serafix granddaughter, SX Vallejo Velvet, he is the only Palomino sired by Invest In Rodeo (alias "Boogie") of the four foals she produced by Boogie. The other three were Buckskins and all have new homes in Michigan. It was a good cross, and all four are of exceptional quality. "Bugle Boy" is just now making his debut as a 3-year-old on YL's Sales List, adding additional color to the many nice Half-Arabian horses we breed and have for sale. He announced his arrival on July 30, 2003 with a unique whinny and continued his talkative nickering as a youngster, earning him the name he has. He's not particular about what he's called as long as he continues to get human attention, which he has discovered is thoroughly enjoyable. Very personable, gentle, athletic, and obviously pretty, "Bugle Boy" is capable of rewarding a new owner with lots of pleasure, whether its a great show career or just the special companionship a horse of his nature has to offer.
"YL Raven" is a 1999 big-bodied 15.1-1/2 dark Bay Sweepstakes gelding out of a Thoroughbred/Quarter Horse Palomino mare. Raven is one of those "bomb-proof" broke-to-death horses you can feel comfortable putting anyone on. He would be an incredible competitor for an amateur rider as he is extremely quiet, gentle, and ready to do whatever you ask. He is an excellent prospect for Dressage, Endurance, Hunter Pleasure and/or Sport Horse competition. Raven is comfortable being ridden in Western or English tack and also enjoys jumping...his newest "for fun" venture. This is a gelding loaded with talent...just show him what you want and he's willing.
"Bedouin," this Sweepstakes 2003 yearling Half-Arabian Palomino gelding is another great example of what a terrific broodmare "YL Azur Kallista" is. She consistently produces high quality foals, whether purebred or Half-Arab. Crossed with "Boogie," I got the star quality I've learned to expect from her again. However, if you have kept up with YL's Half-Arabian Buckskins and Palominos who started arriving here in the spring of 2000, you know the genetic rule of our not being able to guarantee "color" when breeding Perlinos or Cremellos to gray. -- You'll likely get the golden colors you want when the foal is born, but the odds are the baby will "grey out" at maturity. I tried it anyway since I knew the results by Boogie and Azur would be fabulous, regardless. Bedouin is Palomino for now, but I'm certain it won't last. You can bet his overall quality will last though...no matter what his genetically ruled eventual color will end up being. This superior "Boogie Baby" has an exceptionally exotic head, is huge for a yearling, and is one of the best ever bred here.
"Bonanza" is a gorgeous 2003 Sweepstakes Palomino yearling gelding. His dam, a very pretty Chestnut Half-Spanish Arabian IAHA Nominated mare, is 15.2+ hands. Bonanza was stunning as a foal, and keeps getting better looking all the time. He has the right breeding, a great disposition, good bone, size, substance, and thinks people are almost as much fun as feeding time. With so many Buckskin results in the beginning of my venture into breeding for color, 2003 was finally my "banner year" to get some handsome Half-Arab Palominos in the mix. "YL Bonanza Boogie" is an exceptional member of my Half-Arab Palomino crew and a good investment if you're seeking a quality Half-Arab with loads of potential plus color.
"YL Ebonys Evadanz" is a 1999 Sweepstakes Bay mare whose beauty is admired by all who see her. Exhibited just once as a two year old, she was chosen Champion Filly in a large (and I might add, very tough) Halter Futurity Class at the Region 9 Championship Show. Her conformation is correct, and her attitude and disposition rate A+ in all respects. "Eva" is definitely Halter quality (as proven), but additionally very intelligent, athletic, and bred to be equally competitive in many showring Performance endeavors. Without question, she is also a superior candidate for preservation breeders of quality Arabians to add to their broodmare band.
"YL Bonita Tairah" is a 1995 Sweepstakes 14.3 Bay mare with 4 white socks and a star. She is by a stallion I loved very much and out of a wonderful Baske-Tu daughter. A wonderful mother, "Bonita" produced an outstanding Palomino Half-Arab by "Invest In Rodeo" in 2001 who is also pictured below and currently in Reining training. "Bonita" has a very affectionate, agreeable personality and gets along extremely well with both human friends and equine friends. A reasonably priced Champion producer with a lovely pedigree and exceptionally athletic, Bonita is a quality choice for a nice "family horse" and/or broodmare.
Note: The lower photo is her 2001 Palomino colt, "Full Tilt Boogie".
"Chili" is a 1999 bright copper Chestnut Sweepstakes mare, barely over 14.2, and epitomizes what many Arabian breeders like to see in a "classic Arabian." The mix of her very prestigious exotic sire, Magic Dream CAHR, and her terrific Straight-Spanish Arabian dam, "Rosie," (a very successful Arabian Cutting Horse for me and my favorite riding horse) is a perfect combination of beauty and athletic ability. Chili is loaded with Arabian type, personality-plus, and impressive intelligence. She's broke-to-ride and enjoys being under saddle.
"Dream" is a solid black 2001 Sweepstakes Baske-Tu granddaughter who is very exotic in appearance. She is scheduled to go under saddle this winter now that our 2004 Breeding Season is behind us. Meanwhile, she continues to enjoy being a very pretty "pasture ornament" whose presence definitely adds to the equine scenery at YL Ranch. The 2004 late summer sun took a toll on her normally shiny solid black haircoat in this most recent (top) photo, but the earlier spring photo below it taken of her last year as a two year old obviously illustrates what an attractive black filly she truly is. With her superior pedigree, no white markings, loads of personality, charisma, expression, etc., breeders of black Arabians should especially recognize the potential this young filly has to offer their breeding program.
"YL Tyfanita" is a 2001 Sweepstakes Bay filly who is as "Crabbet" as they come. She was bred to be athletic and she is. Her half-brother, YL Clearly Classy, won over $45,000.00 in IACHA Cutting competition, IAHA Sweepstakes paybacks, and NCHA (National Cutting Horse Association) competitions against Quarter Horses whose owners couldn't believe he was an "Aaa-Rab," especially when he was beating them out of a check. Tyfanita's pedigree is replete with some of the best Crabbet bloodlines...Raffles, Al-Marah Radames, Geym, Indraff, Rapture, Radamason from her dam, and Blue Domino, *Royal Dominion, Count Dorsaz, Pulque, Rohanna, Skorage, Al-Marah Erka and Ronara from her sire. This reasonably priced filly is a definite "prize" for Crabbet preservation breeders to add to their program.
Exotica is a lovely 2000 dark Bay Sweepstakes filly, 15 hands tall, very typey and very qualified to have the name she has. Considering who her dam and sire are, she couldn't help but be "exotic" and inherit the wonderful disposition she has. She will soon be going under saddle and there's no doubt she will be a wonderful candidate for serious competition in the show ring. Her dam, "Azur," has been a very consistent producer of exceptionally talented and good looking offspring.
This unique 2003 black-bay yearling filly is by a gorgeous 16-hand black Baroque style Friesian stallion who is a Dressage Champion and has performed at several U.S. National Championship Arabian Horse Shows to the delight of attending spectators. "Friez" is out of a lovely Bey Shah granddaughter who is out of a Fame VF daughter. Along with the cute Friesian pastern "feathers" passed on by her elegant sire, this nice filly has also inherited his exceptionally kind disposition and eagerness to please. "Friez-Frame" is smart and has all kinds of show ring potential, Dressage certainly being one of them! At the rate this yearling is growing, I suspect she will be a very large mare at maturity.
"Bebop" is a 2003 Sweepstakes solid (no white markings) Buckskin Half-Arabian yearling filly. She has two full sisters...all three of these girls are into dancing and all three are exceptionally good looking. The other two besides "YL Bebop Boogie" are "YL Born Tu Boogie" and "YL Tu-Step Boogie." Bebop was the only Buckskin in Boogie's 2003 YL foal crop...Palominos prevailed, which allowed for a nice color mix and made Bebop's arrival even more special. She's following in the footsteps of both sisters' great looks and promises to be every bit as athletic and beautiful as they are.
"Razz" is a 2001 Sweepstakes Half-Arabian Buckskin filly. She's out of a very special *Serafix granddaughter I bred and raised who was an outstanding competitor in Arabian Cutting for me in the 1990's. Winnings earned by "Razamatraz" included 1992 Region 9 Novice Champion, 1992 IAHA Snaffle Bit Futurity Cutting Champion, 1993 Scottsdale Top Ten and Res. Champion Open Cutting, 1993 Region 8 Champion Open Cutting, 1993 US Nationals Top Ten Open Cutting, 1993 IACHA Year End Champion, etc. Having owned and competed with a lot of *Serafix-bred Arabians, especially with get sired by "SX Cantraz," I've learned I can be confident in expecting personality-plus, good looks, and incredible athletic ability from that bloodline. I'm so pleased that this filly's very special dam was able to produce and raise her prior to an untimely death. She also produced one other foal, "YL Khemo Kowboy," also included on this Sales List under "Purebred Geldings For Sale."
"YL Buttercup Boogie" is a stunning 2001 Sweepstakes Half-Arab Palomino filly out of a tall bay *Bask granddaughter. The blend with "Invest In Rodeo" resulted in an exceptionally nice result. Buttercup has all kinds of promise. She has good conformation which fuels the athletic ability she illustrates in the way she moves, and she's also calm, sensible, and enjoys human attention. "YL Buttercup Boogie" has much to offer a deserving new owner who has learned to recognize true quality in a superior young show prospect.
"Honey" is a 2002 Sweepstakes Half-Arabian Buckskin filly by "Invest In Rodeo" out of the purebred Arabian mare "HM Front Page" x "Poirot" x "Negatraz." Her dam, "HM Front Page" showed successfully in Halter and was specifically leased by YL Ranch to be bred to "Invest In Rodeo." This good looking filly has a great disposition, is very athletic, and is also very intelligent and trainable. "YL Bit-O-Honey Boogie" is an excellent prospect for buyers who appreciate good conformation, good breeding, good color and good sense!
